Honeycomb stitch - scarf or cowl

This stitch is easy but very effective. I used it to make a cowl. For this i used knit picks Andean silk and #10US needles. (6mm) I used a provisional cast on so that i could join the two ends together. The finished result was 12" high and i knitted it to be 26" wide Cast on 50 sts Knit 4 rows in 1st color (in my case this was the taupe) (start pattern changing to color 2, in my case the red) slip 1st 3 sts *Knit in 2nd color until last 3 sts (leave these on left needle) turn and purl to last 3 sts, turn* repeat * to * (you have knitted 4 rows) Change to 1st color knit the 1st 3 slipped stitches *knit 4 drop the 5th stitch until you reach the stitch in 1st color put the right hand needle into the stitch in 1st color pass needle under the dropped stitches and knit it* Keep on for * to * in this way until last 3 stitches and knit these Turn and knit Knit two more rows. Ruffled Scarf Pattern

I found out that this type of scarf is called a BAKTUS SCARF Its really easy - all the rows are knit You have some short rows and that's about it! You will need - 100gms or about 420 yards of 4 ply or sock weight yarn # 5 US needles (3.74 mm) Fine yarn works the best but you can use up to double knitting or worsted weight. If you use the thicker yarn I would also use larger needles - go up by one size at least Abbreviations. YO : yarn over, ssk: slip one stitch, knit one stitch, pass slipped stitch over K: knit Instructions: Cast on 10 sts Row 1. Knit Row 2. (short row) Knit 7,  put yarn in front of needle, slip one, turn, knit 8, turn Row 3 knit Row 4 Knit Row 5 - like row 2 Row 6: k 8, YO, knit till end. Repeat these6  rows until you have about 70 sts (or used half your yarn!)
